At Studio Decode we design for people and we put the human at the center of all we design. But we very well understand that our quality of life will improve only if we minimize our impact on the environment and able to live in relative harmony. Our work is contemporary, global in perspective and in experiences but we look at sustainability as a method to situate and contextualize our work to where we build. We are essentially urbanists and our brand of sustainability addresses urban centric solutions. We look at sustainability not just as an ecological solution but also as a strategy to unite architecture, design with nature, culture, local craft and art.

India is a country that has been lived in continuously for many thousands of years. This continuous habitation has allowed many ideas to be experimented and successfully implemented. For us architects there is an immense existing knowledge base we can tap into and be inspired from. However, we live at a time like no other, where the world is united with a singular ethos and aspirations....where global is local or 'GLOCAL' which is a common term used to define this phenomenon. We architects with a western education and global exposure live at the very fulcrum of this dichotomy. At Studio Decode it is our effort to tap into this exhaustive local knowledge base that exists to weave strategies that complement the global aspirations of today’s lifestyle.
