Vrindavan Tech Village (now Embassy TechVillage) in Bengaluru is a landmark project in India’s IT infrastructure development. Conceived as the country’s first fully integrated IT-SEZ, it was designed to host multinational corporations in a campus-style environment that blends office spaces, retail, hospitality, and landscaped public zones. Spread across more than 100 acres along the Sarjapur–Marathahalli Outer Ring Road, the project quickly became a hub for Fortune 500 companies and a model for future tech parks across India.
What makes Vrindavan Tech Village truly historic is its achievement as India’s first USGBC LEED Platinum–rated tech park, developed in collaboration with HDK Hong Kong. This certification recognized its pioneering sustainability strategies, including advanced energy efficiency systems, rainwater harvesting, waste management, and eco-friendly building practices. At the time of its completion, this was a groundbreaking milestone, setting new benchmarks for green architecture in India’s commercial real estate sector.
The design emphasized openness and livability, with wide boulevards, shaded courtyards, and pedestrian-friendly circulation. Natural light, green zones, and water features were integrated to create healthier workplaces and reduce environmental impact. By combining international design expertise from HDK Hong Kong with local context, Vrindavan Tech Village established itself as a forward-looking development that not only supported India’s IT boom but also demonstrated how sustainability and technology could coexist in large-scale urban projects.
